MightyTips FL Championship Players Round up

Adam Bloszko

Liam Palmer had endured a decent month having played in most of Sheffield’s wins. Dimitrios Goutas had one of his worst months of Cardiff’s season with two losses on the bounce against Sunderland and Swansea. Jacob Chapman gets game time at Rochdale as Huddersfield have him on loan to the National League side.

Jacob Chapman Gets Minutes on Loan

As of 23rd of March 2024, Jacob Chapman has been on the team sheet for Rochdale on loan from Huddersfield. Chapman replaced Craig Ross in the lineup as they took on Gateshead FC – losing 1-0. The young goalkeeper went on to rest in the game against Hartlepool.

Rochdale currently sit 11th in the National League – with their hopes of promotion strongly diminished as the season begins to come to a close.

His parent club, Huddersfield, sit in a dangerous position of 21st – just one point off the relegation zone. It’s all to fight for this Spring, for the Terriers.

Liam Palmer’s impact

Liam Palmer continues to be one of the more important parts of Sheffield Wednesday’s team. Palmer had played four games in March, in a crucial win away to Rotherham. He was absent in the unfortunate 6-0 loss to high flying Ipswich Town.

Sheffield Wednesday continue to struggle with relegation worries as they are rooted to the 23rd spot, just a point off Huddersfield. Sheffield’s relegation fight may seem like lingering doom as they face a hard upcoming schedule in the Championship, the likes of Norwich City.

Dimitrios Goutas In Fine Form

Cardiff City had one of the better times in the EFL Championship in March. Dimitrious Goutas had played every game in March. Goutas has now played ten games without rest and substitution.

Three games won in a row at the start of March meant Goutas and co. remained jubilant. Although a loss to Sunderland provided a hiccup, they regrouped away to Coventry City to get back to winning ways.

Cardiff would need a miracle to scramble back into the top six  – sitting at 11th with 56 points.

Carter Returns from Injury

MightyTips new boy Hayden Carter has remained sidelined until the 29th March where he had played his first game back from injury – although only for one minute. Blackburn Rovers gave Hayden Carter his return in the dying minutes of the match against Ipswich town in the heavy 6-0 defeat.

He has since featured on the bench in the 5-1 win over Sunderland, but did not come on.

Blackburn Rovers have been lingering around the relegation zone but managed to bolster their way further up, however, they are still only a few points off safety and a loss or two could land them in danger.
